Rush orders are part of life in the promo world but they don’t have to mean chaos. With a few smart steps and the right use of commonsku tools, your team can manage urgent projects efficiently while keeping clients happy.
You can do this either by using the Firm status or submitting ePOs.

Use Firm Status to Flag Immediate Deadlines
When a project needs to move fast especially same-day or next-day mark the in hands date as Firm.
This status signals to the entire team that the order must move today and should be prioritized above all other open jobs.
To mark a order is Firm:
- Ensure the Sales order is created with all the accurate product details required for the purchase order (PO).
- In the Shipping details tab, set the “in hands” date to today or the following day so it aligns with the client’s deadline.
- Select the Firm status to signal to your Supplier that this order requires immediate attention.
- If applicable, set the Shipping method to Same Day or Rush Delivery to expedite processing.
- Add a note in the Supplier Notes field clearly indicating that this is a rush order this step ensures everyone involved is aware of the priority.
- Create the PO and submit as usual

Using ePOs for rush orders
When creating your electronic Purchase Order (ePO), use the appropriate rush indicator to ensure your vendor understands the urgency:

Rush – For urgent turnaround, usually faster than standard but within a couple of days.

SureShip® – For same-day or next-day production, depending on vendor capabilities.

FastTrack® – For projects that require immediate attention or guaranteed production speed.
This helps your supplier or decorator prioritize your order internally and align production timelines.
To indicate if your order is Rush, SureShip® or FastTrack® order:
- Ensure the Sales order is created with all the accurate product details required for the purchase order (PO).
- In the Shipping details tab, set the “in hands” date to today or the following day so it aligns with the client’s deadline.
- Select either Firm, SureShip® or FastTrack® status to signal to your Supplier that this order requires immediate attention.
- Add a note in the Supplier Notes field clearly indicating that this is a rush order this step ensures everyone involved is aware of the priority (optional)
- Create the ePO and Submit the ePO as per usual

- Gemline offers FastTrack®
- HIT Promotional Products offers Rush
- Gold Bond offers Rush
- Storm creek offers Rush
Always double-check that the Rush/Sure Ship/Fast Track option is selected on your ePO before sending it.
In the Production report
Ensure that the Firm column is checked off to ensure that you are aware of orders that require the firm date for rush orders.
To Turn on the Firm column in the production report:
- In the production report, click on the pink and blue icon
- Check off the firm button
